Your journey, step by step

From first enquiry to your first day on campus, this is how a study application to Portugal, Italy, Germany or Sweden works. Every country has its own rules, so use this page as a clear map and let us check the details for your profile and intake.

Please note: no consultancy can guarantee admission, a visa, a residence permit, a scholarship or a job. The university decides on admission and the embassy or immigration authority decides on your visa or permit. What we can do is guide you honestly and prepare your file carefully.

The whole journey at a glance

  1. Free consultation and profile assessment

We start with a conversation about your education, English or other language results, work history, study plans and budget. This tells us honestly which routes are realistic for you.

    • Passport details (as printed in your passport)
    • Matric, Intermediate, Bachelor's / Master's results
    • IELTS, PTE, TOEFL or other language certificate
    • CV and any work experience
    • Preferred field, city and intake
    • Tuition and living budget
    • Who will fund your studies
    • Previous travel or visa history
  2. Academic and financial screening

We check that your grades, study gaps, language level and funds are consistent and sufficient for the countries you are considering. If something is a weak point, we tell you early so you can fix it or choose a better route.

  3. Choose the country and programme

The right country is the one that fits your academics, budget and plans, not just the one you like the most. Compare the four options in the table below, then we confirm the details for your actual programme.

  4. Collect and verify your documents

We help you organise everything in one digital folder and check names, dates, marks and translations for consistency before anything is submitted.

  5. Apply to the university

Applications go through the university or the official portal for your country. We help you prepare a personal Statement of Purpose, fill in the forms and track every deadline.

  6. Receive your admission decision

You may be accepted, conditionally accepted, waitlisted, asked for extra documents or rejected. We explain each outcome and the next step.

  7. Pay tuition or deposit officially

Always pay the university directly through its official payment channel and keep every receipt.

  8. Country-specific pre-visa step

Portugal: prepare your residence visa. Italy: Universitaly pre-enrolment and validation. Germany: university, uni-assist or VPD route, then visa. Sweden: admission, tuition payment and residence permit.

  9. Visa or residence permit

We prepare your file against the current official checklist and review it twice before you submit.

  10. Pre-departure, travel and enrolment

Mock interview, accommodation help, travel guidance and arrival checklist so your first weeks go smoothly.

Study in Portugal

Portugal offers good English-taught options and a university-specific application model. Each university or polytechnic sets its own application procedure, so the first job is to confirm the rules for your chosen institution.

How it works: for Bachelor's and integrated Master's programmes, international-student applications are submitted directly to the university or polytechnic you choose (DGES). For Master's and other programmes, check each university's own admission rules.
  1. Select suitable programmes

Choose the university and programme, then check the teaching language, academic requirements, application deadline and application fee.

  2. Prepare your documents

Passport, academic documents and transcripts, language certificate, CV and Statement of Purpose where required, with translations if needed.

  3. Apply on the university portal

Complete the application, pay the official application fee if required, and save your application confirmation. Then keep checking the portal and your email.

  4. Understand your result

Accepted, conditionally accepted, waiting list, rejected or request for additional documents. We help you respond correctly to each.

  5. If accepted: verify and pay officially

Download your admission letter and check your name and passport details, the programme, the academic year and any tuition or deposit requirement. Pay only through official university channels and keep the receipt.

  6. Prepare your residence visa

Prepare your Portuguese residence-visa file according to the current requirements of the competent Portuguese authorities.

    • Valid passport
    • Admission letter
    • Accommodation
    • Proof of financial means
    • Insurance
    • Criminal-record document where required
    • Academic documents
    • Visa forms and photographs
    • Proof of tuition payment where applicable
  7. After arrival

Complete the required immigration and residence procedures, register at the university, get your student ID, enrol in classes, arrange accommodation and keep your residence status valid.

Do not rely on an old checklist. Always check the current official requirements before you apply.

Study in Italy

Italy has strong, often affordable public universities and very good Master's options. The key thing to know: the university application and the Universitaly pre-enrolment are two separate stages.

2026/27 rule: the Italian Embassy in Islamabad states that pre-enrolment must be submitted through Universitaly and validated by the university before you can submit your study-visa application.
  1. Select your university and programme

Check Bachelor's or Master's, English or Italian teaching, admission requirements, any entrance examination, academic equivalence, tuition, scholarships and the application deadline.

  2. Apply to the university

Create your university account, complete the application, upload academic documents, passport and language certificate (plus CV or Statement of Purpose if required), pay the application fee if applicable, submit and save the confirmation.

  3. Receive admission

Download the admission letter, check any conditions, complete pending requirements and pay the required amount only if instructed by the university.

  4. Universitaly pre-enrolment

Create your Universitaly account, select the institution and programme, complete and submit the pre-enrolment, then wait for the university's validation. Save the validated pre-enrolment.

  5. Apply for the study visa

Follow the current instructions of the Italian Embassy and the official visa application channel. For 2026/27 the Embassy states that validated Universitaly applications are used for direct appointment allocation through BLS-Intiana.

  6. Prepare your visa file

Prepare it against the current official checklist.

    • Passport
    • Universitaly validation
    • University admission
    • Financial evidence
    • Accommodation
    • Insurance
    • Academic documents
    • Sponsor documents
    • Visa form and photographs
    • Other consular requirements
  7. After arrival

Complete the residence-permit procedures, finish your university enrolment, get your student ID, attend classes and keep your legal residence valid.

Beware of appointment sellers. Nobody can sell or promise you an Italian student-visa appointment, and the Embassy specifically warns students about intermediaries who offer appointments for payment. We help prepare your documents, but you remain the applicant. For 2026/27 the visa application deadline for ordinary degree programmes is 30 November 2026; always check the deadline for your own intake.

Study in Germany

Germany has excellent Master's programmes and many low-tuition public universities, but the academic eligibility check is strict. Knowing your admission route early saves months.

Eligibility first: a Pakistani qualification does not automatically qualify you for every German Bachelor's programme. Entrance eligibility, subject and grade requirements, language, and sometimes a Studienkolleg year are all checked individually.
  1. Find your admission route

For every programme, find out whether the application is a direct university application, a uni-assist application, a VPD procedure or another university-specific procedure.

  2. Check academic eligibility

We check your Pakistani qualification against the university's entrance rules.

    • University entrance eligibility
    • Subject requirements
    • Grade requirements
    • Language requirement
    • Studienkolleg requirement where applicable
    • APS or other current country-specific requirements
    • Programme prerequisites
  3. Apply through uni-assist (where required)

Create your My assist account, enter personal and education details, select university and programme, upload documents, pay the official processing fee, submit, monitor your status and supply any missing documents. Then wait for the evaluation.

  4. VPD route (if the university requires it)

Apply to uni-assist for a VPD, receive it, then follow the university's separate application procedure and submit the VPD as instructed.

  5. Admission

Verify the admission letter, check conditions and the enrolment deadline, check the tuition or semester contribution, arrange the required payment and prepare your visa file.

  6. National visa

Check the current requirements of the German mission that serves your place of residence, then prepare your checklist.

    • Passport
    • Admission letter
    • Financial proof
    • Health insurance
    • Academic documents
    • Language evidence
    • Accommodation where required
    • Visa forms and photographs
    • Other requested evidence
  7. After arrival

Enter Germany legally, register your address, complete residence formalities, enrol at the university, arrange health insurance and other registrations, and keep up your study progress and residence status.

Honest about our role: uni-assist states that it does not cooperate with commercial agencies that place applicants at German universities. We never claim to be an official uni-assist agent. We guide you, check your documents and eligibility, and prepare you well; you are the applicant.

Study in Sweden

Sweden has a centralised admissions system and a very wide choice of English-taught programmes. Tuition for non-EU students is generally higher, so financial planning matters.

  1. Search programmes

Check university, programme, Bachelor's or Master's, English language, academic prerequisites, tuition, scholarship opportunities and the application deadline.

  2. Apply through University Admissions

Use the official Swedish admissions system where applicable and prepare your documents.

    • Passport
    • Academic documents and transcripts
    • English-language evidence
    • Programme-specific documents
    • CV / Statement of Purpose where required
  3. Admission decision

Download your decision, check whether the admission is final, check the tuition requirement, pay tuition according to the university's instructions and keep the receipt.

  4. Residence permit

Non-EU/EEA students generally need a residence permit for higher education when the studies require one. The Swedish Migration Agency states that it must normally be issued before you travel to Sweden. We prepare the current application and financial evidence with you.

  5. After arrival

Travel only after your permit is approved, register at the university, get your student ID, notify your address as required, attend classes and maintain the required study progress.

New rules from 11 June 2026: the starting point for work alongside studies is a maximum of 15 hours per week during semesters, with different rules for June to August. Sweden is not a country where students can work unlimited hours. For permits granted under the new rules, students generally need to complete 62.5% of the required first-year studies and 75% in later years to qualify for extensions.

Your documents checklist

Start collecting these now. We recommend a single digital folder with clearly named sub-folders (passport, academic, language, CV, financial, applications, admission letters, payments, visa, travel). Exact requirements depend on your country and case.

Identity and personal
  • Passport (valid, with enough validity left)
  • CNIC / B-Form
  • Passport-size photographs
  • Email and WhatsApp number you actively use

Your name and date of birth must be identical across all documents. Even small spelling differences can cause problems later.

Academic documents
  • Matric certificate and marks sheet
  • Intermediate certificate and marks sheet
  • Bachelor's degree and transcript
  • Master's degree and transcript (if applicable)
  • Diplomas and certificates
  • Grading scale where required
  • Translations / attestations where required

Dates and marks must match across documents, and your education should progress logically. Any significant study gap needs a credible explanation.

Language certificates
  • IELTS, PTE, TOEFL (or Duolingo if the university accepts it)
  • Other English certificate
  • German or Italian certificate, if relevant to your programme
CV, Statement of Purpose and recommendations
  • Updated CV
  • Personal Statement of Purpose / motivation letter
  • Recommendation letters where required

Your SOP should explain your background, why this field, programme, university and country, your career goals and how your previous education connects to the new course. It must be true and written in your own story.

Employment and experience (if any)
  • Employment certificates
  • Employment history
  • Internships
  • Professional qualifications

Employer, dates and job title must be genuine and consistent with your education timeline and financial documents.

Financial documents
  • Bank statements
  • Bank certificate
  • Sponsor letter
  • Sponsor CNIC / passport
  • Proof of relationship to sponsor
  • Salary slips, business or tax documents
  • Property documents where relevant
  • Scholarship documents
  • Tuition payment receipt

Authorities want to see where the money comes from. Large recent deposits need a documented explanation, and the financial story must match your documents. Never create or alter financial evidence.

Zero tolerance for false documents. We will never submit a document we know to be false, altered or fabricated, and we stop processing a case if we find one. It can lead to refusal and long-term bans, and it harms your future.

Visa interview preparation

Before your interview we run a mock session with you. Practise answering these questions in your own words.

Why do you want to study abroad?
Why this country?
Why this university?
Why this programme?
Why not study in Pakistan?
What did you study previously?
What is your academic background?
Who is sponsoring you?
What does your sponsor do?
What is your tuition fee?
How will you pay living expenses?
Where will you live?
What are your career plans?
Do you have relatives in Europe?
Have you travelled abroad before?
What will you do after graduation?
The golden rule: answer truthfully, simply and consistently with the documents you submitted. Memorised scripts and exaggerations usually do more harm than good.

Quick tips

Know your course and university
Know your tuition and living costs
Understand your sponsor's work and income
Explain any study gap clearly
Carry original documents
Be calm, polite and honest
